Jackson Brewery Lofts

A rare west-SoMa brewery conversion: the Jackson Brewing Company built this robust masonry complex between 1906 and 1913, and Prohibition closed it in 1920. The building carries San Francisco Historic Landmark #199 and was converted to residences in the early 1990s.

Brewery architecture converts beautifully — the floor loads and ceiling heights were built for tanks, not desks — and this corner of Folsom and 11th sits in the middle of SoMa's nightlife-and-studios belt.
